Arrested For DUI?

DUI stands for driving under the influence – whether that’s under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Regardless of your criminal history or arrest record, if you have been hit with a DUI, there is a lot of the line. You could lose your driver’s license for six to 12 months, be fined, be forced to undergo community service, or in some cases, be sentenced to jail time. The good news is, with an experienced professional in your corner, you can avoid harsh penalties and move on with your life. If you’re ready to take the first step, reach out to The Law Office of Shannon Peters today.

DUI Charges in Arizona

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says if you are 21-years-old or older, you will receive a DUI if your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) is above .08% (commercial vehicle driver - .04%, under 21 - 0.00%). Once you are pulled over and suspected of driving under the influence, a field test will be administered. Refusal to take the test will result in an automatic one year suspension of your license if it is your first offense. If it is your second or third offense, your license will be suspended for two years. Arizona is a zero tolerance state and if you are caught driving under the influence there can be serious penalties that could affect your life. It is important to work with an attorney during this process to see if the charges can be lowered or lifted.
